Federal Ministries of Environment, Water Resources Assure NDA of Support

…As NITDA Brokers Collaboration In Information Technology

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has recieved assurances from the Federal Ministry of Environment and the Federal Ministry of Water Resources respectively that both ministries will continue to support the Academy in key areas of interest.  This pledge was made during a courtesy visit by the Commandant NDA, Major General Jamil Sarham, to headquarters of both ministries in Abuja on Thursday.

At the the Federal Ministry of Environment, Maj Gen Sarham informed

the Honourable Minister of Environment (HMOE), Dr Muhammad Mahmood Abubakar, that he was in Abuja to thank the ministry for the recent decontamination exercise it conducted in the NDA. He solicited for more support from the ministry, particularly in the areas of the provision of seedlings for the NDA Green Concept Initiative.

In his his response, the HMOE, Dr Muhammad Abubakar, pledge to assist NDA in areas of afforestation and general sanitation.

Likewise, the Honourable Minister of Water Resources (HMWR), Engr Suleiman Adamu, expressed his delight at the visit of the Commandant NDA and described the occasion as a motivation to do more for the NDA. He  promised to look into any request from the NDA for support in areas of water conservation at the Academy and training. “You can always count on our support”, the minister concluded.

While still in Abuja, the Commandant NDA, Maj Gen Sarham, was hosted by the Director General (DG) of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Inuwa Kashifu Abdullahi. At the event, the DG who described the engagement as a good stride towards strengthening collaboration with the NDA, also promised his agency’s support in building IT capacity and infrastructure.
