Tamando Coy Wins Short Service Cross Country Competition

Tamando Company soared high above 2 other companies to win the Ashanti Battalion Cross Country Competition for cadets of Short Service Course 46 (Army) which held at the Ribadu Cantonment Kaduna today.

Announcing the results, the Chief Judge of the competition, Lt Col MS Tafida, said Tamando Coy scored a total of 1635 points to emerge winners. It was followed by Colito Coy, with 1355 points, while Kalapanzi Coy is trailing behind with 1315 points.

In his remarks, the Guest of Honour, Commandant NDA, Maj Gen Jamil Sarham, represented at the event by Brig Gen OJ Akpor, Director of Military Training, described the competition as an event to test cadets endurance and team work. He congratulated the winners, while encouraging other companies to go back to drawing board in order to prepare better for future competitions.

The Cross country competition saw the Short Service Cadets cover a distance of 12 km, with the best timer finishing at 45 minutes and 36 seconds.
