COAS COMMISSIONS COMPLETED PROJECTS AT 37 NDA DEMO BN
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya today 30 March 2023 commissioned several newly completed projects at the 37 NDA Demo Battalion (37 NDA Demo Bn).
The Commandant NDA, Maj Gen IM Yusuf, while briefing the COAS on projects to be commissioned, described the day as a memorable and remarkable day. He enumerated the 37 NDA Demo Bn projects to be Commissioned by Lt Gen Yahaya to include 37 NDA Demo Bn Armoury/Magazine, Motor Transport (MT) Yard and 37 NDA Demo Bn Officers’ Quarters. Others are Senior Non-Commissioned Officers’ (SNCOs) Quarters and Corporal and Below Quarters(CBQ).
Maj Gen IM Yusuf thanked the COAS for the establishment of 37 NDA Demo Bn and for the newly built projects. He reiterated that the battalion will meet the needs of the Academy in providing demonstration in support of cadets’ training as well as in securing the Afaka general area and Kaduna State at large.
On his part, the COAS expressed his desire towards ensuring that the battalion succeeds on its dual mandate of training cadets of NDA and also enhancing the security of Afaka and Kaduna State.
It’s worthy to note that the Army Chief was in NDA in February 2022 to formally operationalize the newly established 37 NDA Battalion. Thereby, upgrading the former NDA Demo Company to a battalion status, complete with its unit flag, unit insignia, unit mascot and other paraphernalia, alongside the unveiling of its headquarter complex and the 37 Demo Bn Officers Mess.
The 37 Demo Bn is operationally under 1 Division Nigerian Army and administratively under NDA.
