CDS COMMISSIONS OPERATIONAL TRUCKS FOR USE BY NDA – Urges Comdt Not To Rest On Oars
Following the commissioning of several projects earlier today, 30 March, 2023 by the COAS at 37 NDA Demo Bn, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Lucky Irabor has gone ahead to commission 15 Ashok Leyland Trucks and MRAP vehicles for training and operational use by the Nigerian Defence Academy. The vehicles which were recieved from DHQ are expected to further boost the training of cadets in NDA.
The Commandant NDA, Maj Gen IM Yusuf, appreciated the CDS for his unrelenting support to the NDA. The Commandant, who also briefed the CDS on the current Watermanship training going on, revealed that the Dam used for the watermanship exercise is owned by the Nigerian Air Force. He added that Army and Airforce Cadets of 70RC are currently involved in the exercise. Maj Gen Yusuf further noted that the cadets have concluded their Airborne training, shooting competitions and other compulsory training exercises.
In his remarks, General Irabor commended the Commandant and staff of NDA for leveraging on the resources and infrastructure available to NAF to meet the training needs of cadets at the NDA. He applauded the quality of training being offered to the cadets. He urged the Commandant to sustain the tempo and not to rest on his oars. General Irabor noted that the vehicles donated are backup support to ensure that the mandate of the Academy is achieved.
To the cadets, the CDS applauded their hard work and dedication. He therefore, tasked them to always put in their best performance at all times.
