NDA FLAGS OFF CADETS BRIGADE INTER BATTALION SHOOTING COMPETITION
The year 2021 Cadets Brigade Inter- Battalion Shooting Competition has taken off at the NDA Open Shooting Range, Afaka.
The competition is one, in a series of events designed to improve cadets proficiency in weapon handling.
Declaring the event open, the Guest of Honour at the occasion Brigadier General OJ Akpor Director of Military Training NDA, stated that proficiency in weapon handling enhances professionalism. He therefore tasked the cadets to engage in constant practice at the NDA Indoor Range in order to improve their proficiency and skills in weapon handling.
Furthermore, Brig Gen Akpor enjoined the cadets to take the competition seriously and apply all safety and technical instructions correctly.
While restating that weapon handling is an important aspect of military training which enhances confidence and combat efficiency of an individual or unit, Brig Gen Akpor also mentioned that the weapon is just a tool and its effectiveness depends to a large extent on the skills of the firer.
The 2-day event will have the cadets compete in firing of AK47 rifle, FN rifle, GPMG and Pistol. They will also take part in the Falling Plate competition. Sir, attached are some pictures of the event.
