NDA COMMUNITY SENDS OFF MAJ GEN SA YARO, 30th COMMANDANT NDA
The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) community, today at the NDA Officers’ Mess, conducted a Send Off ceremony in honour of its outgoing Commandant, Major General SA Yaro.
The event which brings to end the tenure of Maj Gen SA Yaro which commenced when he took over office from his predecessor on the 10th March 2021 as the 30th Commandant of NDA comes on the heels of the recent posting and appointment in the Nigerian Army following the redeployment of senior NA officers by the COAS, Lt Gen Farouk Yahaya.
Delivering his remarks during the Send Off, Maj Gen SA Yaro expressed his appreciation to all those present at the event and to the entire staff of the Academy for their support and dedication throughout his tenure as Commandant. He disclosed that throughout his service in the military he has served in various commands and formations however he considers NDA the best of all, as the Academy comprises both highly qualified and experienced academicians and well trained military personnels to learn from.
Gen Yaro noted that despite the fact that his tenure was short, he considers it worthwhile and greatly beneficial. He further expressed belief that the projects he has started would be completed by the incoming Commandant and expressed confidence that the next Commandant will do much to improve the Academy from where he is leaving it.
While delivering the Vote of thanks at the event, the Academy Director of Coordination, Commodore PE Efedue, thanked the outgoing Commandant for his exemplary leadership and fatherly figure throughout his tenure in office. He made it clear that Maj Gen SA Yaro’s tenure as Commandant NDA leaves behind remarkable leadership milestones for all to follow. He concluded by thanking all military and civilian staff present at the event and wished everyone safe journey to the various destination.
The event was attended by the Academy Provost, Principal Staff Officers, Deans of Faculties, Professors, Heads of Centers and Departments, Senior Military Officers and Senior Civilian Staff of the Academy amongst others.
High points of the event include conduct of the Academy Band by the Commandant NDA and presentation of Souvenirs to the Commandant by the Academy Provost and Principal Staff Officers of the NDA. Sir, attached are pictures of the event.
