ABRIGED BIOGRAPHY OF BRIG GEN AM TUKUR (N/10468)

Brigadier General Ahmed Mohammed Tukur was commissioned into the Nigerian Army on 18 Sep 99 as an infantry officer. He has served in several capacities ranging from command to instructional and staff appointments. He started his operational career in 2000 as a platoon commander in 19 Battalion during Operation Harmony in Bakassi Peninsula. He has also served in Sierra Leone and twice in Liberia in Peace Keeping roles. Brigadier General Tukur commanded a battalion from 2017-2018 under the Multinational Joint Task Force at Mallam Fatori, Borno State. He served as an instructor in several institutions including the Nigerian Defence Academy and the Nigerian Army School of Infantry. He was also a Directing Staff at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College as well as Army War College, Nigeria. He served as a staff officer at Headquarters 13 Brigade Calabar and Headquarters Guards Brigade Abuja. He also served as the Deputy Director Military Secretary from 2019 – 2020.

Brigadier General Tukur completed his strategic course at the Royal College of Defence Studies, UK from 2020 – 2021. He has a MSc Degree in Geographic Information Systems from University of Leicester and a MA Degree in International Security and Strategy from Kings College London. His hobby includes playing tennis and horse riding. He is happily married and blessed with many children.
