Onipe Adabenege Yahaya is an accountant, manager, financial analyst, scholar, author, adviser, speaker and teacher. He has brought accounting theory and finance concepts to bear on many of the most challenging problems facing governments, companies, economies and societies, including international financial reporting standards and corporate financial performance analysis, corporate risk management, competition, and capital structure analysis. His extensive research is recognized in governments, companies, NGOs, and academic circles around Nigeria. He has received a number of awards. While Dr Yahaya is, at the core, a scholar, his work has also achieved remarkable acceptance by practitioners across multiple fields. Dr Yahaya’s initial training was in accounting at Ahmadu Bello University where he graduated with a B.Sc. Accounting. He then earned MSc. in Accounting and Finance, MBA from Ahmadu Bello University and a PhD in Accounting and Finance from Nigerian Defence Academy. His research approach, applying finance theory to complex systemic problems—reflects these multidisciplinaryfoundations.Â
