Isa Bashir Mato, an Assistant Lecturer with the Department of Biological Sciences, Nigerian Defence Academy holds a BSc. Degree in Botany from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Master of Science degree in Environmental Biology from Kaduna State University, and Master of Science degree in Medicinal and Poisonous Plants studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna. His research interests span across natural products with cytotoxic and medicinal activities with potentials for drug discovery, Ecosystem Restoration, Monitoring and Conservation of plant biodiversity. He is a member of Botanical Society of Nigeria (BOSON) and also a member of a thematic group in the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). He has published a number of articles in reputable journals. Mato is happily married and enjoys reading & traveling as hobbies.
