OVERVIEW
At inception in 1985, the department commenced as department of Economics, awarding only B.Sc degree in Economics. In 1987 the department was changed to the Department of Economics and Management Sciences as a result of the introduction of B.Sc degree programme in Accounting. However, following the restriction of NDA academic programme in 2002, a combined degree programme in Economics/Accounting was introduced in place of the initial separate degree programme in Economics and Accounting.
The National Universities Commission Resource Verification Team visited the department in December 2007 to access unapproved/new academic programme.
