Professor Saidu Garba holds a Ph.D in Organic Chemistry and is a Member Chemical Society of Nigeria.. He is the Director of Academic Planning from 2018 till date and He served as the Academy Examination Officer from 2016-2018. His research work is mainly focused on the area of Phytochemistry, Organochlorine pesticides and Natural product chemistry (antimicrobial properties of many medicinal plants, Isolation and Characterization of compounds responsible for activity in medicinal plants). He published over a number 50 works in the area and is currently carrying out research on the use of medicinal plants for the treatments of viruses. He is a member of National Universities Commission Accreditation Panel to five (5) universities. He also authored a book titled “Phytochemical and Antimicrobial Properties of some Nigerian medicinal Plants†LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing ISBN 978-3-659-1030. He is a Visiting Professor to the Gombe State University; he also serves as an External Examiner to Sokoto State University. He is a Reviewer of Local and International Journals.
