Olayiwola Ayoola Richard is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Political Science, Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA). He obtained his Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Defence and Strategic Studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna and also obtained his first degree in Political Science (Second Class Upper Division) from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile – Ife. He has been in the employ of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, since April 2019.

Mr Richard, as he is fondly called by friends and colleagues, is dedicated to pristine values, hard work, self-control, service and honour. All of these have been the cornerstone of his foundation and the wheels of his progression. He has acquainted himself with a wide range of skills that allow him to blend with any group or team’s culture, and he continuously strives to reach common goals amidst challenges and setbacks. His active involvement in many academic and extracurricular activities has done so well in developing his communication and leadership skills, which are vital in finding success in the corporate and academic world.

Mr Richard teaches a number of courses independently and collaboratively. They include Theories and Practice of Conflict Management (PDS 411); Civil-Military Relations (PDS 413); Nigerian Foreign Policy (PDS 418); Peoples, Defence and Security (PDS 420) and Introduction to Political Science (PDS 110). At the Postgraduate Diploma level, he teaches Research Methodology (PGDPA 713) and Introduction to Conflict Management and Peacebuilding (PGDCMPS 714). He is currently the Undergraduate Coordinator for 300 level cadets.
