NDA Inter-Battalion Sports And Combat Sports Competition Kicks Off at the Sports Complex, NDA Permanent Site, Afaka
The Cadets Brigade Inter Battalion Sports and Combat Sports Competition was kicked off today at Nigerian Defence Academy Sports Complex, Afaka.
The four day competition will witness Regular Combatant Cadets of the Academy competing for laurels in various sports, these includes Ball games, Combat games, Racket games and Aquatic sports among a host of other events.
The competition is designed to build physical endurance in the cadets, develop their leadership capabilities, while also engendering team spirit as well as the spirit of sportsmanship amongst the Cadets.
Declaring the event open, the Special Guest of Honour and Academy Provost, Professor Isa Garba, buttressed the high premium placed on the competition by the Academy and enjoined the cadets to strive hard in order to win trophies and benefit from the advantages of the competition, which he stated to include improved physical and mental health, spirit of sportsmanship and overall wellbeing.
Due to heavy downpour, the football march that was scheduled for today had to be stopped to be replayed tomorrow with DMT as the GoH. Only table tennis single ( indoor game) was successful for today.
