Associate Professor Joseph Appah hails from Kaiama in the Kolokuma-Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Botany from the University of Benin, a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Plant Pathology from the River State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt and a Doctor of Philosophy in Crop Protection from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He joined the services of the Nigerian Defence Academy in January 1990 and has been involved in teaching and research of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He is currently the Postgraduate Programs Coordinator of the Biology and Biotechnology Departments. His major areas of research interest are Medicinal and Poisonous Plant Studies. He is happily married with children
