Engr Professor DK Garba is the Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology. He is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering (Production Engineering) with research interest in Design, Materials Development and Production of Equipment for Military and Civilian Application also in Energy Resources and Robotics. He is also a Military Engineer. His qualification includes HND (1982), PGDME (1986), PGDE (2018) M.Eng Mechanical Engineering, PhD Mechanical Engineering, Pass Junior Staff Course Psc(j) and other professional academic qualifications which include Diploma Bomb Search and Disposal, Advance Diploma Military Engineering and other Certificate of Proficiency in Military Engineering. He is a retired Military Officer. During his service in the Military, he held both Command Administrative and Academic appointments.
After his Military service, he join the service of the NDA as an Assistant Lecturer and rose through the rank to the position of a Professor of Production Engineering. He has many Design and Production portfolio some of which have applied for patenting.
He held various academic and administrative positions which include but not limited to Assistant Departmental Time Table Officer, Departmental Time Table Officer, Departmental Examination Officer, Assistant Faculty Time Table Officer, Faculty Time Table Officer, Assistant Faculty Examination Officer, Faculty Examination Officer, Departmental CIWES Coordinator, Departmental Postgraduate Coordinator, Head of Department Mechanical Engineering and currently Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology. He served in various Committees as the Departmental, Faculty and Academy levels. He has over forty-five (45) publications in both local and international peer review Journals, supervised many students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He served severally as reviewer for many university Journals and served as external examiner for postgraduate students in other university. He also served as external assessor for the promotion of Senior Academics in Polytechnics. He is a recipient of several Honours and Awards at Departmental, Faculty, Academy and National levels. Also a recipient of Presidential Merit Award of the Nigerian Society of Engineers among others. He is the member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and Registered Member of Council for Regulation of Engineering Practice in Nigeria (COREN) also member of other Professional bodies. Some of which he is a Fellow. Professor DK Garba is happily married with 4 children. His hobbies include, Reading, Writing, Watching Action Movies Swimming and Walking.
