Dr. Lateef Olumide Mustapha was born in Ijeda- Ijesa in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State in the early 70s. He attended Ansar-Ud-Deen Primary School, Emure -Ekiti, Ekiti State between 1979 and 1985;Ijaloke Grammar School, Emure-Ekiti between 1985 and 1991 and Orogun Grammar School, Ibadan Oyo State in 1992 where he obtained his Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE). He briefly worked at Agbede International School Ise -Ekiti as mathematics teacher for Junior classes between 1992 and 1994. By 1995, he gained admission to Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke, Osun State where he had his National Diploma (Upper Credit) in Banking and Finance in 1996. He obtained his BSc in accounting (Second Class Upper Division) from University of Ado Ekiti in 2001;Msc Accounting from Bayero University Kano in 2010 and PhD in Accounting from Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna in 2016. He had Master in Business administration (MBA) in Kaduna State University in 2018. Developing interest in the field of Management, he is currently a Postgraduate student, studying Msc in Business Administration in the National Open University of Nigeria.
Dr. Mustapha is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN),the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN),the Chartered Institute of Loan and Risk Management (CILR), Institute of Certified Economics of Nigeria (ICEN) and Forum of Chartered Accountants in Academics in Nigeria (FCAAN). Apart from qualifying many students as Chartered Accountants in ICAN and ANAN, he served in many committees of most of these bodies both at the district/Branch and the National levels
Mustapha has been in the classroom since 1992. He was an Accounting and Mathematics Teacher, Zang Commercial Secondary School Jos (2001-2002); Mathematics Teacher, First Baptist Secondary School Bukuru Jos (2002-2003), Mathematics Teacher, Betty Queen International School, Kaduna (2004).He briefly worked as Audit Trainee in Patrick Udochukwu Chartered Accountants, Kaduna in ( 2005). He has been with Department of Accounting, Faculty of Management Sciences, Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna as lecturer since (2005). He started the ladder from Graduate Assistant and is currently in the rank of Senior Lecturer. Apart from serving in various committees at the Departmental, Faculty and academy levels, he has successfully supervised and completed many undergraduate projects in Accounting and many theses in Postgraduate diploma in Management, Accounting & Finance, Logistics and supply Chain Management, professional masters and academic masters in various areas in accounting. He has five completed PhD theses to his credit as Co-Supervisor. He has served as a resource person to various tertiary institutions such as Plateau State Polytechnic, Jos (2003), Airforce Institute of Technology, Kaduna (2008-2010), National Open University of Nigeria, Kaduna Study Centre (2015 to date), Kaduna State University (2013 to 2018). He served as a member of the accreditation team to Fidel Polytechnic Gboko Benue State (2011), the polytechnic Ibadan, Oyo State (2012). He was an examiner and checker of the professional examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. Mustapha has also lectured in many Professional Coaching Centres such as ACCA Classic Coaching Centre, a subsidiary of Prime Limited, Kaduna (2010),Top Associate ICAN Coaching Centre,Kaduna, NNDC/ICAN study centre, Kaduna, (2014 to date) to mention but a few. He has many publications in Accounting and Finance in reputable Journals to his credit. He is happily married with 4 children.
