COMDT PLEDGES NDA SUPPORT AS DICONOWA VISITS NDA

The Commandant Nigerian Defence Academy, Maj Gen JO Ochai, has assured members of Defence Industries Corporation of Nigerian Officers Wives Association (DICONOWA) of NDA’s full support as association embarks on the series of events for humanitarian purposes.

Maj Gen Ochai made this known today, 20th September, 2023 at the Valour Conference Hall, NDA Headquarters, Afaka. The Coordinator of DICONOWA, Dr (Mrs) Uduakobong Edet, led members of the association on a courtesy visit on the Commandant NDA.

While addressing the women, the Commandant noted that he was impressed with the credentials of the Coordinator, who despite being an officer’s wife with a lot of responsibilities, is also a senior lecturer at Coventry University, UK, a Fellow of Higher Education Agency UK and a Certified Project Analyst among other feats. He encouraged Dr (Mrs) Edet to continue in the good work, noting that she is an exemplary leader. The Commandant also thanked the members of DICONOWA for coming and assured them that NDA will fully support them and make sure they succeed in their programs.

On her part, the Coordinator DIACONOWA, Dr (Mrs) Uduakobong Edet, congratulated the Commandant for his appointment into office and expanded joy with the warm welcome she and her members received at NDA. She prayed that the tenure of Maj Gen JO Ochai will be a successful and impactful one in the Academy.

Dr Edet revealed that they were in NDA to formally introduce DICONOWA and their activities to the Commandant NDA and his team. She further disclosed that last week she led members of DICONOWA to an outreach to the DICON Medical Center. She further noted that the association intends on creating skills acquisition programs, outreach to the less privilege, help for widows of fallen soldiers, as well as other healthcare outreach. She therefore solicited support from the office of the Commandant NDA to sponsor some of these programs.

Highlights of the visit include signing of the Visitors Book by the Coordinator DICONOWA, presentation of souvenir and group photograph.
