COMBINED POP: COMDT HOSTS SUPPORT STAFF, NCOs TO A POST-EVENT RECEPTION
Following the successful Combined Passing Out Parade and Commissioning Ceremony for 70RC, Direct Short Service Courses 27 (Army) and 31 (Air Force), Commandant NDA, Maj Gen JO Ochai, hosted a reception for all support staff and Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) who played key roles that led to the success of the POP and other related events.
The event which provided a platform to express his appreciation to the staff for their invaluable contributions during the POP session, as well as challenge them to do better in subsequent events, is a first-of-its-kind in the Academy and had in attendance the Academy Adjutant, Lt Col MK Nyiam, the Assistant Academy Adjutant, Sqn Ldr DT Zakka, Commanders of various Bands, Academy RSM, Drill Instructors, Equitation Instructors and Quarter Guard staff.
Addressing the gathering, Maj Gen JO Ochai expressed his appreciation for their hard work and encouraged them to work harder in their future duties.
The Commandant also used the occasion to enlighten the staff on his drive and vision for NDA, restating his intentions to propel infrastructural development in NDA that would benefit the generality of staff and their families. He listed some of the upcoming facilities to include maternity facilities at the NDA Hospital and the construction of primary and secondary schools in NDA Afaka.
Furthermore, Gen Ochai also used the event to encourage the personnel to always ensure they provide quality education for their children in order to ensure a brighter future for the children.
The event provided a relaxed atmosphere for the Commandant to interact and dine with the personnel after weeks of rigourous preparation ahead of the just concluded Combined POP of 70RC, DSSC 27 (Army) and 31 (Air Force).
